Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Consulting Radiologists LTD (“CRL”) data breach investigation, for a data breach affecting the personal information of its patients.
On February 12, 2024, CRL discovered suspicious activity on its computer network. CRL subsequently conducted an investigation, where it uncovered that a cybercriminal had accessed certain files and data containing the personally identifiable information of CRL patients. The compromised information includes, but may not be limited to: full names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, health insurance information, and medical information.
Consulting Radiologists LTD recently began informing individuals of these breaches through mailed noticed letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
