Migliaccio & Rathod is involved in the Nissan North America, Inc. data breach investigation.
Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Nissan North America, Inc. (“Nissan”) data breach investigation, for a data breach affecting 53,038 individuals and their personal information.
On November 7, 20243, Nissan learned that it had fallen victim to a targeted cyberattack. A subsequent investigation discovered that a hacker had accessed files containing the sensitive personal information of Nissan employees on that same day. Specifically, full names and Social Security numbers were compromised during the data breach.
Nissan North America, Inc. recently began informing individuals of these breaches through a mailed notice letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
