Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker, LLC (“BerryDunn”) data breach investigation, for a data breach affecting 1,107,354 individuals and their personal information.

On September 14, 2023, BerryDunn learned that Reliable Networks of Maine, LLC (“Reliable), a third-party service provider, had been victimized by a cyberattack. During the data security incident, a hacker stole the personally identifiable information of individuals involved in BerryDunn’s Health Analytics Practice Group that was stored on Reliable’s computer network. Subsequently, BerryDunn conducted an investigation, where it discovered that the data breach occurred between September 12, 2023, and September 14, 2023. The compromised information includes names, addresses, driver’s license numbers, and non-driver identification card numbers.

Berry, Dunn, McNeil & Parker, LLC recently began informing individuals of these breaches through a mailed notice letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
