Migliaccio & Rathod is involved in the American Vision Partners data breach investigation.
Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the American Vision Partners (“AVP”) data breach investigation, for a data breach affecting 2,264,157 individuals and their personal information.
On November 14, 2023, AVP discovered unauthorized activity on its computer systems. After launching an investigation, AVP learned that the hacker gained access to sensitive personal information of its employees. The compromised information includes Social security numbers, contact information, names, dates of birth, passport information and/or bank account numbers, and driver’s license numbers.
American Vision Partners recently began informing individuals of this breach through a mailed notice letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
