Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating the data breach of Limestone Bank. The data breach impacted more than 47,500 individuals’ personal information. Between November 21, 2022, and March 23, 2023, an unauthorized third party breached Limestone’s computer system, stealing individuals’ personal information, including their financial account numbers or credit/debit card numbers (in combination with the security codes, access codes, passwords, or PINs for their accounts). Limestone Bank recently began informing individuals on or about September 15, 2023, through a written notification letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
