Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the McAlester Regional Health Center data breach investigation, for a data breach affecting an undetermined number of individuals and their personal information. On or around May 8, 2023, an unauthorized third party breached McAlester Regional Health Center’s computer system, stealing individuals’ personal information, including their names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security Number, Driver’s license information, financial account information, health insurance policy numbers, Medical Record Numbers, Medicaid or Medicare ID, and health information such as treatment and diagnosis.
McAlester regional Health Center recently began informing individuals of this breach on August 17, 2023, through a written notification letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
