Based in Great Neck, New York, Great Neck Dental is a dental services provider. Great Neck Dental recently discovered that patient information had been hacked. Great Neck Dental gave sensitive patient information to a law firm in 2015. In October 2022, that law firm told Great Neck Dental that the information safeguarded to it had been accessed without authorization. Now, Great Neck Dental is informing patients. Althought they knew which patients had been affected since January 9th, they are only now informing patients.
In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web.
