Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating DotHouse Health, also known as Dorchester House, based in Dorchester, Massachusetts, for an apparent failure to protect patient data in a security event. On January 27, 2023, DotHouse Health disclosed that thousands of its patients had their data exposed. DotHouse had discovered that some patient data had been accessed and likely downloaded by an unknown individual between October 21, 2022, and November 27, 2022. The type of information varied by individual but may have included full name, address, date of birth, medical record number, diagnosis/conditions, medications, other treatment information, and claims data.
In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
