Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Fitzgibbon Hospital (“Fitzgibbon”) for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive patient information in a data breach that was detected on June 6, 2022. Fitzgibbon recently discovered that patients’ identifiable and protected personal and health information may have been accessed and acquired by cybercriminals. This information may have included patients’ full names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account numbers, health insurance information, and medical information.
The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised patient information.
