2021-2022 Toyota Sienna, Sienna Hybrid, and 2021 Toyota Highlander Brake Defect

Migliaccio & Rathod is currently investigating the 2021-2022 Toyota Sienna, Sienna Hybrid, and 2021 Toyota Highlander Brake Defect. Owners report that, when braking, they experience a jolt of power after decelerating, despite keeping their foot on the brake. In the Sienna Hybrid model, this may be due to the vehicle switching from regenerative braking to mechanical braking but it is not clear why non-hybrid models would behave in the same way. Owner complaints on NHTSA report the problem is intermittent but happens often. Because no error code is produced, however, dealerships and Toyota maintain that the vehicle is operating as designed.
