Migliaccio & Rathod, LLP, is investigating a recent data breach at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital (“San Gorgonio”). San Gorgonio, based in Banning, California, has discovered that some person or persons unknown got access to its servers from approximately October 29 to November 10, 2022. The breach is confirmed to have contained names, addresses, medical record numbers, visit ID numbers, health insurance information, clinical information, and dates of birth. Your data breach notification letter, from San Gorgonio, will tell you if your Social Security Number (SSN) has been breached.
Cybercriminals may have already been able to sell the data or otherwise benefit from the fraudulent misuse of such information. People affected by similar data breach often notice one or more of the following types of fraudulent activity related to their personal and health information: unauthorized credit card inquiries or charges, requests for loans or benefits in an individual’s name without their consent, fake medical procedures ordered, or disrupted use of the institution’s website.
