Data Breach Investigation of Luttrell Staffing Group Employee Information

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the Kingsport, Tennessee-based employee recruiting and logistics company Luttrell Staffing Group, for failing to safeguard sensitive employee information in a data breach that occurred in June of 2021. The data breach occurred when Luttrell Staffing became aware that certain files on its computer system were encrypted with malware by an unknown actor. After investigating the incident, Luttrell Staffing learned that an unauthorized actor gained access to its computer systems for nearly two weeks. Examples of the types of data exposed in the leak include names, dates of birth, Social Security number, government-issued identification number, financial account information, credit or debit card information, biometric information and medical and health insurance information.

Although the incident occurred in June of 2021, Luttrell Staffing’s investigation of what information may have been affected ran until December of 2021. In previous data breaches involving malware attacks, victims of data theft have had their information posted online with little information about who gained access to it. Victims of these types of data breaches may be forced to spend money out of pocket for credit monitoring or fraudulent charges to bank, credit card, and medical billing accounts. Some individuals affected by the breach may have noticed suspicious credit card charges, requests for services or loans in an employee’s name, medical procedures ordered without consent, and/or disrupted health insurance coverage.

Are you or have you been a Luttrell Staffing employee who has received a data breach notification letter in the past year?
