Umarex T4E Launcher Defect Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating whether certain Umarex T4E less-lethal launchers outside previously recalled models may experience defects involving their CO₂ cartridge or pressure systems.

In 2025, Umarex USA recalled approximately 32,500 T4E TR50 air pistols because CO₂ cartridges could unexpectedly eject from the products, creating an impact hazard. The recall followed reports of incidents and injuries involving the affected units. However, the recall applied to a specific product population and did not establish that other Umarex T4E launchers have the same problem.

Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether owners of nonrecalled Umarex T4E products have experienced similar CO₂ cartridge or pressure-system failures and whether any additional models may contain defects requiring repairs or replacement.

Owners May Have Experienced:

  • CO₂ cartridges unexpectedly loosening or ejecting from a launcher;
  • Problems securing or retaining CO₂ cartridges;
  • Unexpected gas leakage or pressure loss;
  • Malfunctions involving CO₂ cartridge components;
  • Repairs or replacements involving the launcher’s pressure system; or
  • Expenses associated with a malfunctioning launcher.

Potential Claims May Include:

  • Defective CO₂ cartridge retention or pressure-system components;
  • Breach of express or implied warranties;
  • Failure to disclose known defects, if established;
  • Failure to adequately repair or replace defective products; or
  • Violations of state consumer protection laws.

Signs You May Be Affected:

  • You purchased an Umarex T4E launcher;
  • Your product was not included in the 2025 T4E TR50 recall;
  • You experienced problems with CO₂ cartridge retention or unexpected ejection;
  • Your launcher developed unexplained CO₂ leakage or pressure loss;
  • You incurred repair or replacement expenses; or
  • You have the model number, serial number, or purchase records for your launcher.
