Westinghouse Pressure Washer Performance Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating whether certain Westinghouse electric pressure washers were advertised using misleading water-pressure and flow-rate ratings that consumers may not be able to achieve during ordinary use.

Westinghouse advertises its pressure washers using PSI (water pressure) and GPM (water flow), two measurements consumers rely on when comparing cleaning performance. In September 2026, the National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that although Westinghouse had evidence supporting its advertised maximum ratings under specific testing conditions, its advertising did not adequately explain those limitations. For example, certain maximum pressure measurements were achieved using brief, three-second trigger cycles rather than continuous operation, and maximum pressure and maximum water flow could not necessarily be achieved simultaneously.

Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether consumers purchased Westinghouse electric pressure washers expecting the advertised PSI and GPM performance during normal cleaning tasks, without being adequately informed that those maximum ratings depended on particular operating conditions.

Consumers May Have Experienced:

  • Purchasing a Westinghouse electric pressure washer based on advertised PSI or GPM ratings;
  • Expecting the washer to deliver its advertised maximum pressure during continuous use;
  • Believing maximum pressure and maximum water flow could be achieved simultaneously;
  • Finding that the washer’s cleaning performance did not meet expectations; or
  • Paying more for a model advertised as having superior pressure or water-flow capabilities.

Potential Claims May Include:

  • Misleading advertising concerning pressure and water-flow performance;
  • Failure to adequately disclose limitations on maximum PSI and GPM ratings;
  • Misrepresentations concerning performance during ordinary use;
  • Breach of express warranty; or
  • Violations of state consumer protection laws.

Signs You May Be Affected:

  • You purchased a Westinghouse electric pressure washer;
  • You relied on its advertised PSI or GPM ratings when making your purchase;
  • You expected the advertised maximum pressure during ordinary continuous use;
  • You believed the washer could deliver maximum pressure and flow simultaneously;
  • The product’s performance did not meet your expectations; or
  • You have the product’s model number, packaging, or purchase records.
