Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports of potential mixer and firmware compatibility problems affecting certain Kohler Rehlko 26RCA and 26RCAL home standby generators.
Technical documentation for the Kohler Rehlko 14/20/26 RCA generator family indicates that the 26RCA has different firmware requirements depending on the physical mixer and stepper hardware installed in the generator. The documentation states that one hardware version requires RDC2 firmware version 3.4.5 or later and directs technicians to Service Bulletin SB-823. Pasted markdown
Owners have also reported generators surging or sputtering during scheduled exercise cycles, with at least one technician reporting that a service bulletin called for replacement of the mixer or carburetor together with a specific firmware update. Pasted markdown
