Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports of a potential carbon monoxide sensor defect affecting certain FIRMAN generators, including the W03242 and H07553 models.
FIRMAN generators use carbon monoxide detection systems designed to shut the generator down when potentially dangerous levels of carbon monoxide are detected. However, owners have reported generators repeatedly shutting down even when being operated outdoors in open areas, sometimes displaying a CO sensor malfunction or fault indication.
Reports involving recent FIRMAN generators describe replacement CO sensors failing to resolve the problem, generators starting and shutting down again within seconds, and control-module replacement failing to provide a lasting repair. One complaint reports that a FIRMAN technician attributed the problem to a “bad batch” of CO sensors, although that statement has not been independently confirmed by FIRMAN. Pasted markdown
Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether certain FIRMAN generators contain defective CO sensors or related control components that can unnecessarily disable the generator and prevent it from providing power when needed.
Owners May Have Experienced:
- A generator starting and shutting down again within seconds;
- A CO sensor fault or malfunction warning while operating outdoors;
- Repeated shutdowns despite proper outdoor placement;
- Replacement of the CO sensor without permanently correcting the problem;
- Replacement of a sensor, control module, or entire generator; or
- Being unable to rely on the generator during a power outage.
Potential Claims May Include:
- Defective CO sensors or control components;
- Breach of express or implied warranties;
- Failure to provide an effective repair;
- Loss of use or diminished product value; and
- Violations of applicable consumer-protection laws.
Signs You May Be Affected:
- You purchased a FIRMAN W03242, H07553, or recent FIRMAN generators;
- Your generator displays a CO sensor malfunction or fault;
- Your generator repeatedly shuts down despite being properly operated outdoors;
- FIRMAN replaced your CO sensor or control module;
- The problem returned after repair; or
- Your generator failed when you needed it for backup power.
