Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports of Ford Bronco vehicles experiencing a loss of fuel pressure that can cause the engine to shut down, fail to start, or leave the vehicle undriveable.
Ford has issued a recall concerning certain vehicles that may experience a loss of low-pressure fuel pressure. According to information reviewed as part of this investigation, Ford’s recall materials state that the company is investigating the issue and developing a remedy, with the recall identified as “incomplete, remedy not yet available.”
A recent repair documented on a 2021 Ford Bronco raises additional concerns about the nature of the problem and the availability of repairs for affected owners.
The Bronco reportedly would run for approximately 15 seconds before shutting off and eventually became undriveable. Diagnostic testing reportedly showed a loss of fuel to the engine and a problem with the control circuit between the engine control module and fuel pump control module.
According to the repair account, replacing the fuel pump control module did not correct the problem. A Ford dealership reportedly suggested replacing the low-pressure fuel pump, but replacing that component also failed to repair the vehicle.
The repair shop then replaced the powertrain control module (PCM), also referred to as the engine control module, after which the Bronco reportedly started and operated normally. Subsequent testing showed the previously inactive fuel-pump control signal functioning after the PCM replacement.
Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether other affected Ford Bronco owners have experienced similar failures and whether owners have been left with unusable vehicles, lengthy waits for an official recall remedy, or repair expenses associated with a condition covered by the recall.

- The engine shutting off shortly after starting;
- A Bronco that cranks but will not start or becomes completely undriveable;
- Diagnostic trouble codes or testing pointing to the fuel pump control system;
- Replacement of the fuel pump or fuel pump control module without correcting the problem; or
- Being told that their vehicle is subject to a recall but that a recall remedy is not yet available.
Potential Claims May Include:
- Sale of vehicles containing a defective fuel or engine-control system;
- Failure to provide an effective and timely repair for a known safety-related defect;
- Warranty violations;
- Unfair or deceptive trade practices;
- Recovery of out-of-pocket repair or related expenses; and
- Violations of applicable state consumer-protection laws.

- You own or lease a Ford Bronco or another Ford vehicle covered by the fuel-pressure recall;
- Your vehicle unexpectedly lost power, stalled, or shut off;
- Your vehicle starts briefly and then shuts down;
