Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports that certain YETI Tundra hard coolers may develop permanently warped or bowed lids that prevent the gasket from sealing evenly.
YETI Tundra coolers commonly cost several hundred dollars and are marketed as premium hard-sided coolers designed to provide strong temperature and ice retention. A secure lid seal is an important part of that performance.
Some consumers, however, have reported that the lid bows upward or otherwise deforms enough to create a visible gap between the lid and cooler body, sometimes after relatively little use.
Consumers Report:
- lids bowing or warping upward;
- visible gaps forming between the lid and gasket;
- the cooler no longer sealing evenly;
- warping appearing shortly after purchase;
- the problem occurring across different Tundra sizes or colors;
- concerns about reduced ice or temperature retention; and
- needing warranty replacement because of the deformed lid.
A permanently warped lid may undermine one of the central functions of a premium cooler: maintaining a tight seal that helps keep cold air in and warm air out.
Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether affected YETI Tundra coolers share a recurring problem involving the design, materials, or manufacturing of their lids and whether consumers experiencing this issue received an adequate remedy.
Potential Claims May Include:
- defective lid design;
- defective materials or manufacturing;
- breach of express or implied warranty;
- failure to adequately disclose premature lid deformation;
- diminished product value; and
- unfair or deceptive trade practices.
Signs You May Be Affected:
- You purchased a YETI Tundra hard cooler;
- the lid permanently bowed or warped;
- a visible gap developed between the lid and gasket;
- the lid no longer closes or seals evenly;
- the deformation remained after the cooler returned to normal temperature;
- YETI replaced the cooler because of the lid problem; or
- the cooler’s performance appeared to decline after the lid warped.
