Klymit Static V and Double V Sleeping Pad Leak Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports that certain Klymit Static V, Insulated Static V, and Double V sleeping pads may develop premature air leaks from their valves, internal laminate, or fabric even when there is no obvious puncture from the ground.

Consumers may reasonably expect an inflatable sleeping pad to withstand ordinary camping use without repeatedly losing air. Some Klymit owners, however, have reported pads that begin deflating after only limited use, including leaks appearing at the valve or across multiple areas of the pad material.

Consumers Report:

  • air leaking from the valve or valve attachment area;
  • new sleeping pads leaking shortly after purchase;
  • replacement pads developing similar problems;
  • pads losing substantial amounts of air overnight;
  • being unable to find an obvious puncture;
  • numerous tiny leaks developing through the material; and
  • apparent deterioration of the internal laminate.

Some reports describe consumers replacing one Klymit pad only to experience a similar leak with the replacement. Others describe fabric that appears to become air-permeable across multiple locations rather than suffering a single puncture.

Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether certain Klymit sleeping pads may experience recurring problems involving their valves, laminate, materials, or manufacturing.

Potential Claims May Include:

  • defective valve design;
  • premature laminate deterioration;
  • defective materials or manufacturing;
  • breach of express or implied warranty;
  • failure to adequately disclose recurring leakage problems; and
  • unfair or deceptive trade practices.

Signs You May Be Affected:

  • You purchased a Klymit Static V, Insulated Static V, Double V, or related inflatable sleeping pad;
  • your pad repeatedly loses air despite having no obvious puncture;
  • air leaks from the valve or valve attachment area;
  • the pad appears to leak from many tiny locations rather than one hole;
  • the problem developed after relatively limited use;
  • you received a replacement pad that later developed a similar problem; or
  • you have photographs, warranty communications, repair records, or the failed pad.
