Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Texas IV therapy clinics and med-spas for potential violations of state law requiring licensed staff for elective IV treatments. Beginning September 1, 2025, “Jenifer’s Law” mandates that only licensed medical professionals administer IVs under physician supervision in non-clinic settings.
Non-Compliance with Medical Supervision Requirements
The new law follows the tragic death of Jenifer Cleveland, who passed away after receiving IV therapy from unqualified staff. Despite the law’s clear requirements, reports suggest that many Texas med-spas may still be operating without appropriate medical oversight or using staff without required licensure.
Why This Matters for Consumers
Receiving an IV infusion from an unqualified provider can lead to serious medical complications. Consumers have a right to know whether the individuals administering medical treatments are properly trained and supervised, especially in light of new legal standards.
