On September 27, 2024, Carolina Arthritis Associates (“Carolina Arthritis“) experienced a computer network disruption. Carolina Arthritis subsequently conducted an investigation, which uncovered a cybercriminal had stolen files containing the personally identifiable information of its patients on the above-referenced date. Specifically, the compromised information includes the following sensitive data:

- dates of birth
- Social Security numbers
- medical treatment information
- procedure information
- medical record numbers
- medical provider names

Carolina Arthritis recently provided notice of the data breach. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims.
