Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating West Elm furniture representations for certain products marketed with solid wood framing / solid wood veneer language, amid complaints that buyers received MDF-core components with thin veneer and experienced premature cracking, followed by warranty/refund resistance.

Reported Issues

Consumers report:

  • West Elm “Solid wood” messaging while components appear to be MDF with micro-veneer
  • Slats cracking or structural issues within ~1–2 years
  • Warranty denials or refusal to assist despite early failure
  • Disputes about what “solid wood” meant at purchase

Why Consumers Should Be Concerned

Potential claims include:

  • Deceptive trade practices (material composition misrepresented)
  • Breach of express / implied West Elm warranties (early structural failure)
