What Customers Experienced

A confirmed wave of card skimming attacks hit Sheetz stations in late 2024. By April 2025, customers also reported duplicate authorizations, where banks processed multiple charges for a single fueling transaction. Some victims lost $700 or more.

Why This Is a Serious Consumer Protection Issue

Gas stations must protect customers from payment card fraud and double billing errors. If Sheetz failed to secure its pumps or notify customers of risks, victims may be entitled to compensation for fraud losses, overdraft fees, and lost time disputing charges.
