Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the TransUnion Data Breach Investigation for a breach impacting 4,461,511 individuals and their personal information.

On or about July 28, 2025, TransUnion experienced a cyber incident on a third-party application that is a part of their U.S. consumer support. The breach was discovered on July 30, 2025 and TransUnion found that the unauthorized access may have included personal information of users. TransUnion provided notice to affected individuals on August 26, 2025. The nature of the personal information exposed has not been specified yet.

The TransUnion Breach

TransUnion recently provided notice of the data breach. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the TransUnion data breach, in previous cyberattacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
