Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Commonwealth Business Bank Data Breach Investigation for a breach impacting an undetermined number of individuals and their personal information.
On or about February 6, 2025, Commonwealth Business Bank (CBB) became aware of suspicious activity in its network. CBB conducted an investigation and discovered that there was unauthorized access to their environment between January 25, 2025 and February 8, 2025, during which certain files and folders were potentially viewed and/or acquired. Commonwealth Business Bank provided notice to affected individuals on August 13, 2025. The impacted data includes the following sensitive information:
- Names
- Addresses
- Social Security numbers
- Driver’s license and government-issued ID numbers
- Financial Information
- Birthdates

The Commonwealth Business Bank recently provided notice of the data breach. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the Commonwealth Business Bank data breach, in previous cyberattacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
