On April 29, 2025, Gardner Orthopedics, LLC (“Gardner Orthopedics“) discovered that it had fallen victim to an organized cyberattack after noticing suspicious activity on its network. Gardner Orthopedics subsequently conducted an investigation, which determined a cybercriminal had accessed the personally identifiable information and protected health information of patients maintained on its main internal servers on the above-referenced date. While Gardner Orthopedics’ review of the data breach is ongoing, the compromised information may include the following sensitive data:
- full names
- dates of birth
- Social Secuity numbers
- demographic information
- treatment and diagnosis information
- health insurance information

Gardner Orthopedics, LLC posted notice of the data breach on its website. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the Gardner Orthopedics data breach, in previous cyberattacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
