Fidelity Life Association Data Breach Investigation

Fidelity Data Breach

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Fidelity Life Association Data Breach Investigation, regarding a breach that impacted at least 786 individuals residing in Texas and their personal information.

Fidelity Life Association noticed suspicious activity within its network. Fidelity Life Association subsequently conducted an audit which uncovered a cybercriminal accessed and/or acquired files containing the personally identifiable information maintained on its network. The compromised information likely includes highly sensitive data including names, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth.

The Fidelity Life Association Data Breach

Fidelity Life Association recently provided notice of the data breach and informed the Texas Attorney General’s Office. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the Fidelity Life Association data breach, in previous cyberattacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
