Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the DA&E Data Breach Investigation for a data breach that affected 82,207 individuals and their personal information.
Dohman, Akerlund & Eddy, LLC (“DA&E”) discovered that files on its system were accessed without permission on February 28, 2024. After launching an investigation, DA&E learned that a cybercriminal had gained access to the personally identifiable information of its consumers. The investigation concluded on September 26, 2024. The private information compromised in the data breach likely includes but is not limited to full names and Social Security Numbers.
DA&E Data Breach
DA&E recently sent notification to affected consumers informing them of the data breach. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the DA&E data breach, in previous cyber-attacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
