MedReview Data Breach Investigation

MedReview Data Breach Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the MedReview Data Breach Investigation that affected an undetermined number of individuals and their personal information.

At an undisclosed time, MedReview detected suspicious network activity that impacted some of its computer systems. Subsequently, MedReview conducted an investigation that uncovered a cybercriminal had stolen the personally identifiable information of its patients. MedReview made this determination on or around September 5, 2024. While MedReview states that its investigation into the cyber-attack is ongoing, the compromised information includes the following sensitive data:

  • Full name,
  • address,
  • birth date,
  • social security number,
  • salary range, and
  • 401(k) account balance

MedReview Data Breach

MedReview recently sent a notice letter to affected patients informing them of the data breach. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the MedReview data breach, in previous cyber-attacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
