On November 13, 2023, Coastal Plains Integrated Health became aware of suspicious activity on its network. Subsequently, Coastal Plains Integrated Health conducted an investigation, where it discovered that a cybercriminal had accessed and removed certain patient files between November 12, 2023, and November 13, 2023, through a ransomware attack. The healthcare provider has not explicitly stated what information was breached, but it likely contained patients’ personally identifiable information, including private health information, such as full names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, medical information, employer information, and health insurance information.
