Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Valley Veterinary Clinic, LLC (“Valley Vet”) data breach investigation, for a data breach affecting 25,969 individuals and their personal information.
Recently, Valley Vet noticed suspicious activity on its webpage that impacted online purchases. After conducting an investigation, Valley Vet discovered that a cybercriminal had accessed the personally identifiable information of consumers who made purchases between February 4, 2024, and March 4, 2024. The compromised information includes names, financial account information, credit and/or debit card numbers, and security codes, access codes, pins, and passwords for the Valley Vet online accounts.
Valley Veterinary Clinic, LLC recently began informing individuals of these breaches through a mailed notice letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
