Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander for a defective hood design. Customers report that the hood flutters at highway speeds or when going over bumps, leading to safety concerns that the hood will unlatch while driving. Mitsubishi has put out a Technical Service Bulletin noting that an increase in air flow to the front of the vehicle may cause the hood flutter, and advises dealerships to place thicker weather seals on the front end and grill side to minimize the flutter. Some customers who have had the repair performed report that the issue has continued—Mitsubishi’s TSB continues to advise the replacement of weather seals if the flutter continues.
