Kia Soul Class Action Investigation

UPDATE: WE ARE NO LONGER INVESTIGATING THIS POTENTIAL SUIT. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR DEALER TO SEE IF THE DEFECT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating potential claims arising from headlight failures on 2012-2016 Kia Soul models.  Drivers report headlights that flicker and fail, either when moving or when stationary, on the road and on the highway. Possible reasons for the headlight failures include overheated wiring and a faulty connection within the headlight wiring harness. Though the headlights can fail in as little as 10,000 miles, the failure also occurs at a later mileage point that many drivers say puts it outside of the covered warranty period, incurring a $400 repair cost.

Kia has not issued a recall for the vehicle, despite the clear safety risks of lost illumination at highway speeds. Since some drivers experience headlight failure as a result of using their turning signal, the safety risk to the driver is not limited to simply switching on the exterior lighting.
